Cedar Post Tree Farm is a family-owned tree farm by Mike and Amy Ward. They offer several different varieties of trees to choose and cut or they have pre-cut NC fraser fir trees and beautiful, fresh wreaths.
Everyone is invited out to the Greenwood State Park on Sunday, Dec 8, 1-4pm to take pictures with Santa. The event will be held in the Drummond Center and is free to everyone with paid park admission. Bring your cameras and snap away.
Cokesbury College celebrates its 165th Birthday with an OPEN HOUSE for the community. Decorated in a colonial theme by the Unit One Garden Club, the college will be open from 4:00 to 7:30 pm on Saturday, December 7th. Refreshments will be served. Holiday music will be played on the grand piano by Janet Fitts. Tours of this historic community treasure will be available. The public is invited free of charge, to come and "step back in time".
On Monday, December 9, the Greenwood Festival Chorale will present a Christmas concert featuring a wintry mix of music by composer Dan Forrest, A Musicological Journey through the Twelve Days of Christmas, and other Christmas favorites.
The Chorale welcomes special guests, Palmetto Girls Sing! under the direction of Amy Fennell, and Greenwood High School Eagle Singers, directed by Gina Jolly. Steve Skinner is Artistic Director and Conductor of the Greenwood Festival Chorale. Accompaniment will be provided by Rodney Cleveland, Josh Harrington, brass, and percussion.
Christmas in the Forrest will be on Monday, December 9, at 7:30 pm, at First Presbyterian Church, 108 W. Cambridge Avenue, in Greenwood.
Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the Arts Center in the Federal Building, from singers, and at the door.
With Christmas quickly upon us, sights, sounds and aromas of the season warm the cooling winter air and brighten dark nights. This time each year, the decorations go up and the baking equipment comes out to create those traditional dishes we have all come to look forward to each year.
The Ware Shoals Community Library will host a gingerbread house exhibit. “I wanted to do something different this season, and perhaps start a new tradition. This an amazing opportunity to give patrons a traditional holiday program while combining some of the older favorite traditions”, said Melissa Crenshaw, Branch Manager of the Ware Shoals Community Library. Lander University will usher in the holiday season with its annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on Tuesday, Nov. 19, beginning at 5 p.m. The festivities, which are open to the community, will be held on the front-campus area and Assembly Plaza.
While festivities begin at 5 p.m. that day, the tree will be lit at 6 p.m. This is a change from the previous announced time of 7:30 p.m.
Attendees will be able to enjoy a flurry of activities, including riding in a horse-drawn carriage, roasting marshmallows, competing in an ugly holiday sweater contest, having pictures taken with Santa, decorating ornaments and riding a Ferris wheel.

Buy tickets for the Saturday Santa Trains to take a day trip through the country side while Santa stops to visit with you and your family and friends!
Want an even more magical experience? Passengers of the Twilight Santa Trains will enjoy hot chocolate, chocolate chip cookies, quality time with Santa and of course Christmas Carols! Arriving in your pajamas is highly encouraged, but not required. Due to safety reasons, all passengers, including infants, will be required to have a ticket.
